Course Description: Main focus of the course shall be to equip knowledge of Banking Practice and Laws of Pakistan in light of International Historical and legal developments.This course describes general principles of bank regulations and will also help to improve interpretational skills of legal language and clear understanding of the prevalent banking and ancillary laws in Pakistan. This course will help to develop professional/legal skills so as to apply these laws in real life scenarios and enable them to comply with the legal requirements related to banking matters.
The course will focus on different laws related to banking sector, which includes; Nationalization Act of 1974, Banking Companies Ordinance 1962, State Bank of Pakistan Act, 1956, SBP Banking Services Corporation Ordinance, 2001, Pakistan Banking and Finance Services Commission Act, 1992, Microfinance Institutions Ordinance, 2001, Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600), Prudential Regulations of SBP, The Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Ordinance, 2001.
