Meet the Visionary Behind Blackstone Associates
Ujala Akram
Ujala Akram is a dynamic legal academic and founder of multiple educational ventures across the U.S. and Pakistan, including the prestigious Blackstone School of Law & Business and Blackstone K-12 – An Acton Academy in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Currently pursuing her PhD in International Human Rights Law at Leeds Beckett University (UK), she holds an LLM in International & Comparative Law from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and an LL.B. from the University of London.
With nearly two decades of international experience, Ujala Akram has led academic initiatives and legal education programs across the globe from Silicon Valley to Egypt. She has held leadership positions at Santa Clara University, the U.S. Department of Defense, and Indiana University, where she served as Senior Advisor to Graduate Law Programs and contributed to USAID-funded global legal education projects.
Her teaching philosophy is rooted in access and equity. As a long-time educator of University of London LL.B. students, her freely available YouTube lectures have become a valuable open-access resource for aspiring law students worldwide.
A fierce advocate for social justice and women's rights, Ujala Akram's research explores minority protection, inclusive education, and the international protection of human rights. She continues to inspire change-makers and future legal professionals through her work at Blackstone, her law firm, and through Blackstone Associates, where she now leads immigration and education services for those pursuing opportunities in the United States.
