Course Description: In Pakistan, the civil procedure is governed through the Code of Civil Procedure (Act of 1908); primarily a procedural law though it contains substantive provisions. This course will help understand the substantive and procedural provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure with reference to the different stages of civil proceedings, judgment and decree and its execution, the right of appeal, revision and review. The course also focuses on the difficulties of the procedure and how the same are used at different stages to defeat the ends of justice through delaying tactics.
The course also focuses on the procedure for the enforcement of civil rights through the civil courts and will provide knowledge of the steps involved in civil trials and appeals. At the successful completion of the course, you will be familiar with the specific provisions of the Code and would be able to identify and apply the relevant law at different stages of a trial.
