Course Description: This course will provide an opportunity to analyze how media and telecommunication laws affected the application of traditional legal principles. The course will largely focus on the application of laws related to print, electronic media and right to information. Besides these, the course will also help in understanding media specific laws, such as the Press Council Ordinance, 2002, the Defamation Ordinance, 2002, Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, the Telegraph Act 1885, the Post Office Act, 1898, the Contempt of Court Act, 1973, and the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-Organization) Act, 1996.
