Bio:
Ujala Akram brings in extensive experience in heading academic and administrative units in several higher education settings in the USA. She has, most recently, held the role of Assistant Dean at Santa Clara University in the heart of the diverse and innovative Silicon Valley in California. Previously, she has served as a Director at Santa Clara University, taught at and headed an academic department with the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and served as a Senior Advisor to the Graduate Law Programs at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law—Indianapolis (IU McKinney School of Law). During her years with IU McKinney School of Law, she also worked on a USAID grant-funded project through which the law school’s LL.M. Program was offered at Cairo University and Alexandria University in Egypt. She also worked at a prestigious law firm in Indianapolis, Faegre Baker Daniels LL.P., on an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) project.
Ms. Akram’s specialized research and writings in the field of law and education focus on women's issues, minority rights, social justice, international protection of human rights, effective teaching methodologies; student learning styles. She's been teaching law to the University of London LL.B. students since 2013. Her hundreds of law lectures are publicly available on YouTube as an open source for students. Her research and service both are derived by her strong commitment to social justice and her belief in making the quality education accessible to all social classes.
Mohsin Sheikh, LL.M.

Mohsin Sheikh is an Advocate of the High Court as well as a human rights activist in Pakistan. He holds an LLM from Indiana University, USA specializing in Criminal Investigation, International Human Rights, Counter Terrorism and International Criminal Law. Apart from LLM and LLB, he has done Masters in Criminology and Security Studies supplemented with several Post Graduation Diplomas covering criminal investigation, forensic evidence, crime scene management, ballistics, death scene investigation, rape assault investigation etc. He has expertise in Criminal Trial, Criminal Investigation, International Criminal Law, International Human Rights, Constitutional Law, Anti-Terrorism Act, Financial as well as Cybercrimes. Mr. Sheikh has also worked on an Extradition Case between Russia and USA during his stay in the United States. He provided legal assistance in research, drafting and litigating the case in Thailand. In the past, Mr. Sheikh has worked as an associate with Abdullah Usman who has joined the judiciary as an ADSJ. Recently, Mr. Sheikh has joined Blackstone School of Law as an Admission Administrator. Mr. Sheikh has also worked as an intern in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Pakistan. He has deeply observed the department of FIA and how it operates and litigate throughout Pakistan. With the exception of Litigation and legal research, Mr. Sheikh is an adjunct faculty member of the University of Punjab. He teaches Criminal Investigation and Organized Crime and Money Laundering to MSC Criminology & Security Studies at University of the Punjab and Crime Scene Management and International Protection of Human Rights at Blackstone School of Law. He has reformed and redesigned various modules of Criminology to match international standards. Moreover, he has also trained, assisted and guided several professionals from law enforcement agencies such as Army, Police, FIA, IB etc. as his students among professional lawyers and fresh grads. By mutual efforts with students, several articles of students also got published in a paper. Similarly, Mr. Sheikh also writes in a local newspaper Daily Parliament Times on various national and international issues. Few among his published articles are Replacing Custodial Torture as an Interrogation Technique, Flawed Investigation; An Impediment to Criminal Justice, Kashmir Conflict Scorns United Nations, Dignity-Enshrined but Restricted, Anticipated Religious Lockdown Ahead, Pakistan’s Efforts Repudiated by FATF, Food Adulteration Seeks Attention, Coronavirus as a tool of Biological Warfare among US and China, etc. In short, Mr. Sheikh is an aspiring technocrat who is working hard for a better, brighter and crime-free Pakistan.

Barrister Waleed Ashraf
Barrister Mian Waleed Ashraf is a practicing Advocate of the Lahore High Court. He is currently a partner at Lahore-based law firm, NWMS. He is also serving as a Director at the Human Rights Protection Centre. Waleed's area of expertise includes Constitutional and Civil law wherein he has provided research, drafting & advisory services to clients. He is an expert in his field of work.

BARRISTER AMBREEN KURESHI
We’re delighted to welcome Barrister Ambreen Kureshi as a faculty member to teach Professional Ethics as part of the #BarTransferCourse. She was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in the year 2007 as an Outstanding Barrister. She has experience of legal practice both in England and in Pakistan extending for over a decade. In 2018 the British Parliament acknowledged and awarded her work. She continues to be one of the few female Barristers of Pakistan who advises and have clients both in England as well as in Pakistan. Welcome, Barrister Ambreen Qureshi.
Barrister Ambreen Kureshi has been appointed by orders of the Honourable High Court United Kingdom to assist the Honourable Judge in a Family/Criminal Matter Case. Barrister Ambreen is a faculty member at #Blackstone School of Law and teaches Professional Ethics to Bar Transfer Course (BTC) students.

Barrister Abdul Qadoos Sohal

Barrister Abdul Qudoos Sohal is a practising Advocate of the High Court. He is currently the Managing Partner at 'Sohal Law Chambers (Since 1984)'. His main areas of practice include Constitutional Matters, Criminal Law including Murder References and White Collar Crimes.
Mr Sohal completed his LL.B. (Hons.), Master of Law (LL.M.) in Clinical Legal Education, and PGDip Specialism in International Dispute Resolution from the renowned City Law School – City, University of London (UK). He also completed his Bar Vocational Studies from City, University of London and was called to the Bar in 2021 by the prestigious Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. His prior education before going to the United Kingdom was from Aitchison College, Lahore.
Mr Sohal became the 1st Pakistani in 125 years of history to be elected as the Student Councillor of the City Student Union (UK). He was awarded the prestigious City Students' Union 'Carrot Awards’ 2019-20 and the SU Impact Award 2020-21 by City, University of London Students’ Union. He has also been honoured with the title of ‘Pride of Pakistan’ by the Government of Pakistan.

Barrister Ramshah Chaudhry

Barrister Ramshah Chaudhry is a practicing Advocate of the High Court. She is currently a Partner in ‘Sohal Law Chambers’. Her main areas of practice and expertise include Civil Litigation, Cyber Laws, and Constitutional Matters.
Ms Chaudhry completed the University of London LL.B. (Hons) Programme in 2018. She holds a Masters of Law (LLM) in International Human Rights from City University of London, United Kingdom since 2019. She completed her Bar Vocational Studies (BVS), from City University of London and was called to bar in 2021 at Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn.
Ms Chaudhry had been elected as the Treasurer for Association of Gray’s Inn Society (AGIS) at the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn and also held the honour to be the Student Representative of City University at Gray’s Inn. She was also appointed as the Vice Chairperson of the Human Rights Committee (LHCBA)
Prior to starting teaching at Blackstone School of Law, Ms Chaudhry has previously gained teaching experience being the adjunct faculty member at Leads Law College (Township Campus). She was also hired by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) as teacher’s assistant.

We are thrilled to welcome Barrister Zahra Zaman as a new faculty member at Blackstone School of Law. Barrister Zahra is an Advocate of Hight Court and has worked on many landmark cases such as the Panamagate papers and some high profile NAB cases, and has experience working with some of the most notable names in the legal profession. Her main areas of practice include Constitutional and Civil Law.
Barrister Zahra completed her LLB in year 2014, followed by Bar Professional Training Course from BPP University, London and was called to the Bar in 2016 at The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. In addition, prior to LLB and Bar-at-Law, Barrister Zahra holds Bachelors (Hons) degree in Mathematics with Finance & Accounting from The Queen Mary, University of London.
Her prior eduction, before going to the United Kingdom was from The Convent of Jesus & Mary School, Karachi.
